I don't know what to say about this beer. In general I like stouts, with a couple of exceptions, but this one was amazing. Every sip is like a mouthful of chocolate cream pie. Only this one comes with an ABV. This stout definitely goes on the list of favorites. I will be buying a lot more of this.

This is far and away the best chocolate stout I've had. The taste is almost malty - it's delicious. The only knock is the low ABV, but I'm not sure that's what everyone goes for on a chocolate stout.

Trader Joe's in Southern California stocks many of Young's bottled beers, including their Luxury Double Chocolate Stout. The sweet, cream, and chocolate taste is smooth, velvety, and faintly reminds me of a coffee drink. The bitter aftertaste is not too strong, but it does linger on the tongue. I had this a while back on tap at the Horse Brass, and WOW! This is not your average stout. I like a stout once in a while when I am in the mood, but this doesn't require me to be in the mood for a stout to enjoy it. Rich, chocolaty, and smooth. I haven't had it on tap since that night, and I feel like everytime I get it in either a can or bottle I am chasing the dragon.

This is the best stout I've had.Perfectly balanced and a sweet chocolatey taste.I felt like a kid eating my first chocolate bar. Aroma and flavor is great all the way through and aftertaste lingers just long enough with no sourness at all.I had this in a bottle, but if I had a chance to try this in draught,I'd probably rate it off the charts and have to move into the pub that sells it !

Do NOT buy this in the "draught" can - it is 110% better in the bottle. I did a side-by-side comparison and the can with the little platic nitrogen insert put forth a thin, tasteless watery mess - while the bottle version was a rich, chocolatey, espresso, malty brew. My rating is for the bottled version.

Amazing on tap, but still great in a bottle. Dark chocolate, espresso, rich body, creamy head- I would lick this beer off Will Ferrell's hairy body it is so good.

I am curious to see if it tastes different in a store-bought bottle, but coming from the tap, it was excellent. Very smooth with no aftertaste. A meal within itself.

I guess I just don't like chocolatey flavored beers. This is the second beer I've had in this style and I find that the chocolate flavor just doesn't fit. It always tastes beefy to me. In this beer the chocolate flavor is not completely overpowering and there is a nice nutty aftertaste to balance it out.

Body is dark brown rather than black with a rather creamy body which seems typical of a sweet stout. There is a clear and definite chocolate aroma. However, this stout proves to be an incredible piece of art in it's way to present a distinct chocolate aroma while still having a stout taste: it is finely balanced. Each mouthfull brought an instant orgasm to my tongue I must say. Very good product.

I liked this beer so much, I want to go back to Horse Brass (a great English Pub in Portland, OR) to drink it again. Like Jsprague, I don't usually like stouts, but this was great. It goes awesome with a nice cigar, too.

I really hate stouts, but this one definately has to be an exception to the rule. This stuff is mother's milk.. Dark, creamy and very chocolatey, this beer is a perfect desert drink or would even work well poured over a dessert like vanilla ice cream. Will definitely drink this beer anytime I can get it..

Edited: This beer is what got me into stouts years ago and I love them now... The canned version is nowhere near as good as on tap and my rating is for the tap...
