Brewer's Description: "A velvety smooth barley wine with a rich, complex caramel and malty character and a full warm flavour full of bananas, pear drops, apples and esters with a smooth finish. The hop character keeps the sweetness in check. Pale ale malt, crystal malt, a special blend of sugars and Fuggles and Goldings hops. But one of the things it's missing is the harsh alcohol taste that seems present in most barleywines. It's a pretty smooth drinking beer. Makes it a little more like an imperial brown ale. Pick up flavors of alcohol and some sweet raisin flavored malts.. It is pretty decent, but a little simple. Wouldn't turn it down, but probably wouldn't buy it.
