This is my equal to light beer, since I don't drink light beer. I suggest this to a light beer drinker that's transitioning to better quality beer. To me it's a simplistic brown ale and I mean that in a good way. Cinoman Raisin bread right from the bag and a New Castle is a go to for me.

Nice aroma and initially good flavor, but the flavor dies away pretty quickly leaving a rather watery aftertaste. Easy drinkability, though.

Tough to make a complaint about this beer.Very smooth nutty flavor.Small hint of caramel or choc but mostly nutty.Hardly any bitterness maybe a twinge on the finish. The way I like a brown ale and I love brown ale.

Not a complex tasting beer but its so smooth it doesnt matter.Goes down easy.Plus you can buy it anywhere.

Love it! Very smooth and simple beer! Doesn't have many complex characteristics but delivers great! Just tasted it recently and have not been able to drink anything else since!

Very drinkable, not bad, but no special taste when from the bottle. This is typically the darkest beer offered at many pubs and restaurants in Southern California that don't also offer Guinness Stout. You can find it in all the grocery stores too. Newcastle is typically the darkest beer that most Southern Californians have tried.

Not very complex just a nice beer to drink, very well balanced and a nice smooth taste. Hints of nut flavor and/or chocotate.

As an intro to brown ales-this will do the job.A non-demanding taste that lacks any frills or thrills.I find it very average and not enough ABV,but drinkable.

Had this at Outback with a big fat steak. Newcastle has a great malty taste that complements the food and has just enough bitterness to hold its flavor. I could drink a cooler full of these without getting tired of the taste.
