I agree with Sloshed; this is a very tasty beer on its own, but it doesn't really follow the style of the doppelbock. A bit heavy, but not really bready like most doppelbocks. If you are just looking for a sweet beer to have with some spicy food, this would do really well. It also makes a nice after dinner drink.

This has a different flavor than most Doppelbocks and doesn't have much sweet caramel taste. Instead it has sort of maple syrup, wood, and smoke flavor. If judging it based on the style, it doesn't score well, but on flavor alone it is really tasty.

I liked this, but I couldnt drink that many, it was a little heavy. Flavor was really smooth, a little smoky and a little roasted sweetness. Went nice with my BBQ!
