Beer Bottle
Brewer's Description:
"Truly the epitome of brewing's two thousand year evolution, Samuel Adams Utopias™ offers a flavor not just unlike any other beer but unlike any other beverage in the world. Its warm, sweet flavor is richly highlighted with hints of vanilla, oak and caramel. Our 2003 batch topped out at a record breaking 25% ABV, beating the records that Samuel Adams® Triple Bock® and Samuel Adams® Millennium had set before it. And like those groundbreaking brews, Samuel Adams Utopias™ is not carbonated and should be served at room temperature. In one of many examples where Samuel Adams Utopias™ pushed the boundaries of beer, it received the highest recommendation (96-100 points) from the prestigious Wine Enthusiast Magazine (November, 2003 edition)."

A really delicious desert beer. This beer brings out the scotch lover in me, as the malt flavor is very similar. The sweetness is powerful but not syrupy. Extremely smooth.

Extremely sweet, with an almost brown sugar taste. Thick on the tongue and smokey. Smells and tastes a lot like Brandy. I am a better person for having tried this (for free!)

To smell it right off the bat, you would hardly believe that it is a beer. It smells alot like a scotch or somthing of that nature. It has a really strong flavor to it, but a really good flavor at that. I have never had a beer like this before and would imagine that I might not again (at least not for a long time). It was very good to try it and would love to have more of it again. GOOD STUFF!!!

First impression is the incredible decantur it comes it. Finely crafted porcelin, and then copper plated. The first whiff is so strong, my eyes are watering. If I were blindfolded, I would have guessed I was smelling a fine Scotch whiskey. The high alcohol is obviously present, in both the smell, and the moderate afterburn. Although, it's not too much at all, as it also carries the lingering flavours after each sip. The maple is strong at first, then a light and sweet vanilla overtakes the palete. The whiskey barrel aging process provides a through addition to the enjoyment of Utopias. This is outstanding! I am not surprised at all though; Jim Koch rarely disappoints. I wish I had more, and more, and more. Very good.

This is hard to call a "beer"...it is really a dessert wine, and it is fan-f'ing-tastic. I really like this one.

Super cool bottle! Smells like alcohol and nothing else which wasn't getting me too excited about drinking it. But the taste is another story. Very sweet, vanilla, dark fruits, smokey. No carbonation. Very complex and definitely more like a dessert wine than a beer like Judge Rage said. A little goes a long way - you only need about an ounce of this.
