This doppelbock is up there as one of the best! Nice caramel notes and just the right sweetness to balance the hops. Highly recommend it.

Glassware: Best served in pilsner glass or mug.

Personal Notes: Definitely a brew going into my BHOF (Beer Hall of Fame)!! This brew pours a rich dark red body that sports a thick foamy head that lends well with the brew for quite a while. Scents of strong malt, coffee (maybe a rich espresso) followed with rich malty flavors blended with hints of orange or cloves with very little presence of the taste of alcohol. It has a nice thick feel to it and is a great beer to pair up with wild game or other rich meats.

This is a great example of why I love this style. It has the nice caramel, malt taste and ABV warming with only a hint of sourness- which I can live with. When you want the polar opposite of a hoppy IPA,this is the choice.I could get seriously F*#ked uP on this!
4/23/10 Revisited:I can't get enough of this beer!It would be on my regular rotation if available year round.I am upping the rating because I haven't found a better example of this style, yet, and the price is very reasonable.

Picked this up at 7-11, and it was a very tasty bock beer. This has a very smooth mouthfeel, malty front with a balanced finish. Oh, this one could get me into big trouble. A little sweet, but not so much that you couldn't put a bunch of these down, but I could taste this one all day!

Got this at Wild Oats and it is a damn good beer... I love the bock family of beers and this is a really good one.. It has the usual caramel malt flavors that you would expect, but it is less assaulting than many other Doppelbocks. This is smooth, has the perfect amount of sweetness, and the alcohol is very well hidden. Good beer to drink yourself autistic with.

A really good beer if you're into the bock style. The taste is entirely carmel and malt. Not a trace of hops or fruityness to be found. The beer is heavy enough that you could only drink 4-5 at a time but with the alcohol content, that will get you pretty far.
