I didn't realize the ABV on this until I decided to make it my first beer of the night! The smell is very malty and has a small amount of alcohol to it, and the taste -- oh, the taste! It's EXTREMELY drinkable for the 22% tag and has a nice, stouty undertone. It doesn't hit you full on as a stout, but it definitely is, with a nice burn at the end. I'll add more later once I see what this one does to me!

This is a completely devastating beer. It does not have the taste of a traditional stout; however, this is not necessarily a bad thing, as I found the taste to be full and rewarding. The ABV will definitely take some by surprise (myself included), but that is a welcome surprise. All in all, well worth the cost and one of the better beers I have had.

"Kept missing this one at the beer fests and finally found it at John's Marketplace. This tastes nothing like a stout to me and tastes quite a bit like an Eisbock. Tell me I'm wrong... I dare you! Lots of carmel syrupy malts, dark fruit flavors, and maybe a little bit of roasted chocolate followed by a shitpot of alcohol. It is very good in limited doses and will derail your train..."
