Brewer's Description:
"The song, “Sixteen Tons”, made famous by Tennessee Ernie Ford, describes the hardships and struggles experienced by coal miners. ”You load sixteen tons, what do you get~Another day older and deeper in debt ~Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go~I owe my soul to the company store.” Weighing in at 116 IBU’s, this Double India Pale Ale tastes like it has 16 Tons of hops in it. We start with strong, malt backbone and then hop it up with generous portions of Warrior, Nugget, Chinook, & Columbus hops. 16 TON IPA is all natural; meaning this bottle-conditioned real ale is both un-filtered and un-pasteurized. Because of this, you will see a layer of yeast on the bottom of the bottle. As 16 TON IPA ages, its hop bite will mellow. We recommend not saving it for a rainy day, but to enjoy it now! After dealing with your day’s “Sixteen Tons”, kick back and relax with this Double IPA and let your worries blissfully fade away."

Wow.... This is the best Breaker brew I have had to date (and I have had pretty much all of them -- reviews to follow in the coming months)! It's very heavily hopped, but also has a great malt undertone that balances it out. This is the kind of IPA that I need to use to get people into IPAs -- flavorful, yet also a good amount of hops to entice them into trying more.
