Brewer's Description: "Available every spring for a limited time. The Baron Rauchbier is a German style smoked beer that is most commonly found in Bamberg. 80% of the malt used is smoked with Beechwood. There is a very nice mellow sweetness from the malt that is counter-balanced with the campfire smokiness from the smoked malt. The aroma has a blast of smoke that is headed off by malt sweetness and subtle hoppiness in the finish. A very unique beer that is an example of an old style. All ingredients for the beer are imported from Germany. Brewed in accordance to the German Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot) of 1516." The other was by Schlenkerla which I didn't like because it tasted like luau pig. This one had a nice smokey flavor that mellows as you drink it. There is also some slight malt sweetness and hops mixed in that add complexity and balance. This would be an awesome camping beer.
