What are some fall beers that you are either already drinking or are looking forward to?
I just popped the top on a Sierra Nevada Tumbler. I'm just starting to form impressions of it and will post a review within a half-hour. |

I'm not a fan of most Fall beers except for the Imperial Pumpkin Ales.I look forward to Winter beers though. _________________ Beer Is Bread |

Sweet!
I am a fan of a good Octoberfest beer, but we don't see a lot of them in these parts. In fact, what we get in the fall is the same as we get during the other 3 seasons - HOPS. I tend to get burnt out on that and crave malt-driven beers which are easier to get in the winter. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

It sounds like sloshed is getting hopped out like I get sometimes. It seems the NW is all about the hops.A good imperial stout, barley wine or double bock will cure a case of hop-itis.
As for Oktfest beers, they are a hit or miss for me like dubbels. If it's an actual German oktfest,I usually have better luck with it.

I might be the only one, but I don't really look forward to most Fall or Winter brews.. Stouts, Porters, Oktoberfests, etc.... Just not my favorites.. I will drink them though, I just prefer more Spring and Summer styles..
I suppose A few Belgian Abbey ales will be enjoyed soon enough if that counts... _________________ .

Just difference in tastes, that's all, dude. I personally enjoy most styles, and the changing of the seasons is a changing of the taste-buds for me.
I'm looking forward to having multiple bottles of Southern Tier's Pumking. I'm sure I'll have at least a six-pack of Sam Octoberfest, too. |

I think out your way, you possibly get better seasonal representation.. I know many parts of the country do. We really don't get too many barley wines, imperial stouts, light summer beers, pumpkin beer, spiced beer, etc. Out here it is one pale ale/amber ale/IPA after another. Don't get me wrong, we do it with the best of them, but it gets old after a while. That was pretty much my motivation for writing this article a while back..

Just to add to what I said.. If it weren't for Deschutes Black Butte Porter and Full Sail Session Black Lager, I would die out here. Those are the 2 regularly available malt driven beers that we have here and both are very good. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

Can't speak for the northwest but the seasonal beers in the midwest are pretty solid. There are only a small number of really good brewers locally so we get the best of everyone else more or less. The local brew shop does an annual octoberfest tasting with 8-10 true seasonals. Lots of good xmas beers like Great Lakes. I can totally understand getting burnt out on the same flavors over and over. _________________ Happiness is like peeing yourself, everyone can see it but only you can feel its warmth! |

Winter means Ninkasi Oatis an Oatmeal Stout will be available soon. It is one of my season must haves. _________________ Let the obsession begin. |

| While I love a good pumpkin ale most of the time, my favorite Fall beer would have to be Spaten Oktoberfest. A good portion of the time, I can find the bottled stuff at my local liquor store, but it's only on tap for a short period of time at the Heorot in Muncie, IN. Might at add that THIS particular spot is BEER HEAVEN. It's about a 45 minute drive from Indianapolis, so it's definitely a big event when I visit! LOL. |
