After 3 years with no vacation, I am finally getting one. Will be heading to Oahu and staying on the north shore for 10 days. Will have internet, but might be a little slower than usual on adding beer submissions.
Haven't had too many Hawaiian beers that I have liked, but I am looking forward to going to the Kona brewpub and trying some new ones. Also, Oahu is much more populated than most islands I have been to, so there is a good selection of other beers available. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

If there are no good beers, I would stick to Blue Hawaiians (rum, blue curacao, cream of coconut, pineapple juice).

Either way, I will drink every beer I can find that I haven't already tried. But, Mai Tais, Lava Flows, and all of that will be definitely part of the daily program. Good idea about the Blue Hawaiians.. That is a good drink. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

You can also add Pina Coladas and Margaritas to that list. Damn, I just had breakfast and I'm getting thirsty. Is it 5 O'clock somewhere?

Have a good time J. I love Kona beers. They have a brewhouse way over here, up in NH, so the beer is always good and fresh. _________________ .

I had no idea that they had a brewpub out there. I've only had a few of the beers, so I will definitely be looking forward to trying some more. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

I've never actually been there.. But the bottles we get say they are brewed in Kona, and in Portsmouth, NH. The Firerock Pale is pretty good, and the passionfruit beer they have is good too, without being too sweet or fruity. Surprisingly good blend of flavors.. _________________ .

What an ordeal it was to get here. We had to fly from Portland to Seattle to get a part for the plane. That's reassuring, right? 9 hours later we left for Hawaii and missed our first afternoon because of the delay. Yeah, I know I am a bitch and I'm whining about finally being in Hawaii. I suck.
So far, the beer hunting has been sad, but I am on the North Shore and there is much less going on here. The best part is that we are in Laie which is where their BYU campus is and they don't even sell alchohol here. When we get down to Honolulu, I have read that we might find a few stores with good stockpiles of Japanese beer I haven't had.
That beeradvocate site listed a market up here in their beerfly section. We checked it out today and it was a total bust. Good job Beeradvocate. My guide will not include that mistake! _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

No, no you don't man. I'd be pissed and demand something in return. Someday airlines will learn to not F the flyer over anymore..

You mean the worst part? WTF.. I'm so glad I don't have any religious convictions that prevent me getting drunk, or off..

BA sucks, plain and simple. Not a bigger collection of asshole, know-it-all beersnobs than on BA. And they hate being dissed, or told they are wrong about something. I'd bet most of their reviews are placebo based. They think they know what their talking about, when in fact, it's gutter trash. _________________ .

Last night while we slept, our house was robbed... Out of the 4 of us, 3 of us had our wallets stolen, 3 cameras, a laptop, and probably some other shit. Guess we forgot to lock a door. Good times... _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

Do you mean your house back on the mainland or where you're staying in Hawaii? Either way, that sucks.

It was our rental house here in Hawaii.. It really sucked, but we're drinking our way through it. Fortunately, 1 person in our group was smart enough to keep her wallet in the bedroom, or we would have no ID and no money.. I just hope the TSA doesn't F with us when we try to go home. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

I hope everything works out o.k. That must take away from trying to have a nice vacation while dealing with that kind of crap. Sometimes the best laid plans just go to s***. Hopefully, you can still manage to find some fun while you're there.
