I'm in Tucson visiting family and finally got a good enough internet connection to post. Anyway, I was excited to check out this store called Total Wine & More and we went there today. Their website claims to have 2500 beers in each of their locations. I didn't do a count, but they did have a shit ton of beer (and wine and liquor). However, a lot of the beers were in 6 packs, and like many other states, you can't take a single out of a 6 pack like I can back home. Makes me crazy! I'm not going to buy 30 6-packs of beer so I can try 1 of each for reviews. Fortunately, they did have a pretty good selection of singles (warm and being blasted with up-close flourescent lights). Fortunately, none of them had turned and I found quite a few that I haven't seen at home. Tucson definitely isn't close to the worst place to go for beer. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

That sucks. Single beer sales rule, and hopefully sellers will realize that's how people try new beers, and maybe push for a change in the laws.
The super store I go to has a Wild Six deal, any 6 beers same size bottle, in a six-pack, and you get 15% off each bottle.. _________________ .

These stores need to realize that giving the consumer small samples or selling singles will sell more product in the long run.

They must not realize that they can make more money selling singles. In Oregon, for example, let's say you buy a 6-pack of xyz beer for $6. If you take a single out of it, they might charge you $1.10-$1.20 and they make $.60-$1.20 more per six pack by letting people part it out.. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

I used to buy singles exclusively years ago, just looking for something new. It's actually right about this time of year I make a trip to my superstore an hour away, and drop $100 on 10-20 different beers to try, and remember how good they are. _________________ .
