|
|
I am working on publishing a wine replacement guide which purpose will be to replace fancy wines by fancy beers to accompany fine cuisine meals.
For example: instead of having white wine with oysters, a delicious Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout will have great effect.
I am looking for such combinations. Any ideas? _________________ Prime Minister: Beer Snob |

| A Guinness goes well with pretty much any steak. |

I don't know why, but any weitzen (especially hefeweizen) seems to go well with stir frys. Especially if teriyaki is used. _________________ kidvelvet

I think hefeweizen makes a nice breakfast drink (or anytime for that matter)..
Young's Double Chocolate Stout goes great with vanilla ice cream. Even poor some on the ice cream..
I like Pale Ales and IPAs with fish, especially Salmon..
Blonde/Golden ale with Pizza.
That is about all I can think of off the top of my head.. |

I haven't tried it yet, but Newcastle sounds like it would go well with good fish and chips. |

Young's Double Chocolate Stout also goes well with a cigar...not a lot of beers do.
This is a great idea, Minister.
I had Chimay with steak, and it waas a good combination. _________________ It's Beer-Thirty somewhere.
