I've drunk a few beers in my time and am keen to review those that I can remember Drink From Flask However I'd like to use the beer database here as a bit of a personal history of what I've drunk so it would be very helpful for me to seach all beers where I have entered a review. Is this something that's possible now or is a suggestion for future enhancement?

Welcome to the site!!!

Yes, we do have that feature available. If you look at your post above, on the left side, there is a number which is linked to your review page. Or you can go find a beer that you know you have reviewed already and click on either your name or the number of beers you have reviewed to get to it.

There is also the ability to add beers to "My Favorites". When viewing a beer's detail page, there is a link that says "Add to Favorites". You can then access your favorites using the "My Favorites" link located in the menu bar in the Beer Database section of the site.

Thanks for the question.. Made me realize that we should probably make it a little easier to find. Smile

Many thanks for the quick reply and the welcome, I presume you're the master brewer around here?

My friend and I have been indulging in "New Beer Night" for more than 18 months now, every Friday night and we typically have 2+ new beers every time, so this equates to hundreds.

After I posted my message yesterday I discovered the Favourites and did what you suggested, I added my review to the Favourites.. however if you take my example above, if I have reviewed hundreds of beers my Favourites will become a little awkward to navigate quickly.

Perhaps this is just food for thought when thinking of new improvements to the database? I'm sort of hoping I could go into the database and search for my name, that might pop up say 300 reviews and I could then use further filters like beer types, country of origin etc...

Also, is it easy for me to add images if I have them? If I have some updated product data (perhaps name change, product no longer in production, Alcohol content etc.) what's the best way to submit this?

Again, thanks for taking the time to reply, really like the site, look forward to posting more reviews once I'm done with New Beer Night tonight Beer

You can click the number by your avatar to see all your reviews. They don't need to be in your favorites to see them.

You can't do this part though. You get them all. It would be nice to at least be able to limit the display to a hundred at a time or something.

In addition to what Drew said, you can also go search the database for a beer you have reviewed (Carlton Black Ale, for example) and click on the number of reviews that is linked next to your name in your review.

Or, you can go to the "Top Reviewers" page in the statistics section and click on the number of reviews next to your name.

Or you can bookmark this link which is your page of reviews.

That is true.. I tried to add the sorting options found in the rest of the database that allows you to sort via name, brewer, location, rating, alcohol, etc.. It also allows you to limit the number of results displayed per page. Unfortunately, it didn't work so I will need to get some help with that..

Here is what I will have done...
1) Add link sorting to Favorites and My Reviews pages.
2) Include a link to "My Reviews" in the Beer Database section's menu next to "My Favorites" or "New Reviews" for easier access.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have a huge list of other improvements that I want to make to the site, but don't have the funds at the moment. I may be able to get these 2 done now. The rest will probably happen in a few months.. Beer

Eventually, you will be able to fill out a form to submit changes, but that won't be ready for a little while.. In the meantime, there are couple of different things we can do..

1) You can send me a private message via these forums to send corrections.
2) You can email me (jason AT beertutor dot com) for corrections or bottle images.
3) An even better way for corrections is to find the beer in the database and send me an "E-beer" using the link and just type in the changes you think should be made.
4) If you need to review a beer that we don't have listed, use the "Add a Beer" link in the Beer Database menu. You don't have to fill the whole form out. I will research it and get the info. I will also post all of the beers from that brewer if we don't have them listed.

Hope that makes sense. Smile

Just FYI.. I am going to go ahead and have a little work done on the user review pages so it won't be working correctly for a little bit. Smile
