For you Oregonians, 2 new breweries are joining our already extensive selection.

Hopworks Urban Brewery is brewing up better than usual organic beers on SE Powell Street.

The always good Deschutes Brewery is opening a brewpub in the Pearl District. The grand opening will be on May 2nd.

I am going to meet a friend tomorrow at 2pm at Hopsworks. I have heard wonderful things about their beers. The brewmaster used to be El Queso Grande at Laurelwood. From what others tell me, he was only using his "B" beers there, and saved his "A" game for this place.

I will let you know what I think after I go there tomorrow.

Ok, I went out there and...DAMN! These are really great beers! The cask conditioned IPA was the most well balanced IPA I have ever had...nice hoppy front and a mellow finish. Just fantastic. And their porter was very smooth and rich...oh man, I am getting thirsty just thinking about it. This was a great place. I gotta get back there soon!

Cool.. I haven't been down there yet, but have had a few of their beers and they were suprisingly good - especially for being organic..

That Deschutes brewpub should be open now and I will have to get down there soon too..

Sloshed, we need to go down to this place...we were supposed to go when we got back from our vacation in April. We also need to get down to Tigard for the Purple Haze. Are you leaving for your trip this coming weekend? If not, let's talk...
