Finally, first brew 2K10!!!!!!!!!! Doing my IPA, which is the greatest IPA in the world...haha..you guys in the NW would probably think it's a light pale ale though at only 59 IBUs.....still within the BJCP guidelines though.. Either way, it rocks and I can't wait for it to be ready on back on tap...

And if the weather holds, next weekend I may do my Imperial IPA...yummy!

I'm so tempted to run a hose into the primary right now... It smelled so good all week.. I'm pretty sure it's done, but I want to give it a few more days... I may rack it to secondary for another week tomorrow.. I forgot add the whirlfloc and irish moss, so I want to give it extra time to clear.

My next problem is when to brew the Imperial..next weekend I have a beer fest, weekend after that I'm going to a local brew session...and by then the IPA will be ready for the kegerator, which means I'll have nowhere to ferment the Imperial with any temp control... I'll figure something out.. Beer

It's awesome! I've actually been enjoying it for about a week. Took a little while to get carbed right, and set the right pressure to pour with a new regulator. Still need to find the last few tweaks to get it perfect, but it pours, and drinks so smooth...

Will bottle a few of these for sure.. The IIPA is in Primary still. Will take another reading to see where it's at. I checked last weekend, but it was stuck 1.020, and I'm looking for closer to 1.010... If that's ready tomorrow, it should be on tap by next week!

Planning the next few brews...a white ale, and a couple wheat ales..including a special attempt to brew a beer while camping in the White Mountains...more to come on that later if I go through with it..

Yeah, around that... I usually boil just over 8 gallons, down to at least 6.5. That takes into account the wort avsorption by the leaf hops, and trub loss, and line loss. I try to get 5.5 in primary. That allows me to siphon off just over 5 clean gallons with no trub or mess going with in it to the keg...
