My family got rid of the Amsterdam house
But, they are looking to buy a house in Belize. We'll all be going there in June to house-hunt. A very nice trade, but no good for the beer hunting. A lot of Belikin it will be! _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

I heard that Belize is beautiful and cheap. My wife and I are considering going there next March. Some pretty good packages out there.
Another friend of mine just got back from Honduras, and he loved it there. They went to the Mayan ruins, and he was pretty impressed. At first he didn't want to go, but he said that it was well worth the bumpy 3 hour drive. _________________ kidvelvet

Yeah, it looks nice.. We'll actually be in San Pedro on Ambergris Cay. It looks a lot like Isla Mujeres from what I have seen in pics so far.. I'll definitely let you know the scoop after we get back..

Were they on the mainland? or on Roatan? We have heard some good things about Roatan. It was a finalist for our September trip, but it lost out to the Bahamas (Abaco Islands). _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

I believe the bulk of their trip was on Roatan, but they went onto the mainland for a couple of nights for the Mayan ruins. It looked pretty cool, and he said it was very affordable. Just be careful of the fact that everyone carries automatic weapons around their shoulder...even the guys that pump gas. _________________ kidvelvet

Yeah, that was the reason it lost our vote.. Even on Roatan, there have been home invasions and road stoppages by people with automatic weapons. Several Americans have been killed in the last 5 years and many more robbed. But we know people that have been there and had no problems. The difference is that we don't typically stay in hotels, we rent houses. That is where the problems in Roatan occur.
Its all good.. There are tons of other places to go until they get their shit squared up.. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

If things keep up the way they are, the Dam won't be the Dam anymore. Last time I went, they had just started strictly enforcing the weed laws so that no bar can serve weed and no smoke shop can serve alcohol. Then I read that they are shutting down the Red Light District. Then the other day, I read that they are going to ban mushrooms. It is getting very conservative over there, and soon it might not even be worth visiting. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

That would totally suck.....but, hey at least I can I've been there when it was good...maybe only once, but it counts......hell, you've been there a few times, so you probably have better memories than me....I was just wasted most of the time.... _________________ .
