So I have a Black Butte XXI and Abyss sitting and waiting for their drink on date to arrive and some days I don't think they are going to make it. _________________ Let the obsession begin. |

The XXI has a best after date of April 14th and I believe the Abyss is November.
I have not had either of them. I have just started buying the $12 beers as a treat for myself.
I have tried the Rogue Double Dead Guy and thought it was very good and the XS Imperial Porter also very tasty. _________________ Let the obsession begin. |

Those dates are way too far away.. Drink them now! They shouldn't sell them until they are ripe.. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

I say hold off. Just imagine how much better, deeper, fuller, and overall more enjoyable they will be when properly aged. I usually buy at least 2 of any real good beer..1 to drink, and 1 to age, and age, and age... _________________ .

I really wish I had more money available for this type of spending, it would be great to be able to cellar a collection of beers. _________________ Let the obsession begin. |

I try to only pick up things that I see as limited, and also something I would enjoy. If I saw a special RIS on the shelf, I would leave it because I don't really like stouts, let alone an RIS... That way, I can get a few extra goodies without going broke..
Then again, I can't seem to hold onto the good stuff for that long. The longest I have held anything is a few years, and those are my first Utopias and Westvleteren 12 and 8... _________________ .
