| I've noticed that sometimes I get diarrhea after trying out a new brew. Others here have mentioned this happening a few times, too. What do you think causes this? I think it might be the water used in the beer, but that's just a guess. |

Happens to me all of the time, but not usually from trying A new brew. It happens when I drink beers that are prone to causing that in me. For example, if I drink more than 6 Widmer Hefeweizens, I am guaranteed to spend half the next day on the toilet. I have always assumed that it was the wheat (fiber) that was doing it. But, some other beers do it too and I haven't yet unlocked the code for the rest. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

| My first guess was the water since the water is different everywhere and contains multiple bacteria, etc. My other guesses would be the ingredients like wheat, hops, etc. might be moldy or contaminated.Perhaps the brewing process itself could effect the outcome to cause it.Maybe some brewers here could inform us about what in the process of brewing could make that happen. So many questions. |

Maybe it is the water. Olympia always gave me wicked problems the next day too. Oly's slogan was "It's the Water" - for real.. _________________ I drink to forget my blackouts. |

I know this is a shitty topic, but this IS the health section.
I've noticed that I've never had a problem when trying a new IPA.This makes me wonder if certain styles of beer lend themselves to gastronomic side effects more than other styles? If this is the case, then the water might not be the culprit after all. |

I remember being in many a bathroom stall in the NW with the phrase "Please flush...Olympia needs the water".
It's the water...and the can too. Now the question is are there or aren't there Artesians? _________________ kidvelvet
