I read an article in Esquire magazine about canned beers which was o.k. until the end where they praise PBR and diss Genesee Cream Ale. My opinion of their opinion is this: "Opinions are like assholes-everybody's got one."

To see the article go to Esquire.com Feb. 23, 2012 and look for the article titled, "Ten Canned Beers To Drink Now." Perhaps sloshed can provide a link in the beer news section.

I read that article today from Yahoo. I'd agree with some of what they say, but not all. I've never been a big fan of canned beer, but Dales is pretty good. And there is nothing wrong with a good cold, PBR in a can. It is a good quality, cheap beer. Remember, you may not like the style, but it was won lots of awards worldwide.

As for cream ales, they all suck. ROFL

Here's a link to the article..

I think PBR is disgusting and the only award I think it deserves is for best movie scene about beer - Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet. Simpler Times might even be worse.. I've only had a couple of the others.

Just last night, I drank a few Big Sky Trout Slayers out of a can and it was pretty good. I think most beer lovers would find it more deserving for this list than PBR and Simpler Times.

J, you've had the Simple Times? I can't imagine how bad it taste at only $3 per 6er. I just can't agree that a quality product can be made for that low price..how are they making any profit? Oh, that's right...by using low quality ingredients probably, and loads of adjuncts. Beer costs money for a reason. Not agreeing with the higher cost over the past few years, but it's at least somewhat justified.

I would definately like to try that Anderson Valley Cream Ale. It just might dethrone Genesee!

Time for an exchange! J, you got Allagash over there? I'm BL420 can find that stuff all over his area... I'd trade a 1000 cream ales for one Allagash Triple, or White. Both are wicked good..

I've had 9 of Allagash's beers. I think the are one of the best (probably the best) brewers of Belgian style ales in the country. They're impressive..

Allagash is good, but not all of their beers are worth the price esp. when you can get an authentic Belgian for the same or less price.

Yeah, sometimes the price is a small downer...but I don't see Allagash all over like I used to, so when I do find it I'll usually grab something. The Victor & Victoria were absolutly fantastic. I'll buy those everytime I see them..
