Possibly for the first time ever a woman will wield the stirring stick at a Trappist brewery. In October Anne-Françoise Pypaert is being appointed as Master Brewer in the Orval Trappist brewery in Wallonia.

Orval is a very enjoyable beer, but I don't drink it often. I have other Trappiste and Abbey style beers I prefer.

But overall, I don't see how being a woman would negatively affect the quality. 20 years+ in the lab, she already knows what, and how to do it.
