5 Rabbit is located in Chicago, IL but the inspiration for their beer comes from a little further South. They are the first Latin microbrewery in the US. Taking from the 2 founders roots in Costa Rica and Mexico they have been able to create a new kind of Latin American beer for the US craft beer drinker. This idea captured the imagination of author and all around beer expert, Randy Mosher, who jumped on board to be their head Brewer and creative mind. With Randy's mindset of being a "Radical Brewer" and having such a broad culture and history to draw inspiration, their beers are incredibly unique in flavor. The story takes place in Randy's basement which you could also say has a completely unique flavor and is the perfect setting for a mad scientist to create something no one has every tasted.
